Job Description

A Lifting Operation Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of lifting operations at construction sites, manufacturing plants, or similar environments. This position requires a deep understanding of weight distributions, safe lifting techniques, and equipment management to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The specialist will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and safety officers to develop and implement lifting plans tailored to each project's specifications. Additionally, they will inspect equipment regularly to ensure it is in optimal working condition. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have significant practical experience in the field, bolstered by relevant certifications.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lifting plans for various projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments to predict and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Collaborate with project managers to coordinate lifting schedules and sequences.
  • Ensure all lifting operations comply with legal and safety standards.
  • Inspect lifting equipment regularly to ensure it is safe and functional.
  • Train and supervise teams on proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
  • Document all lifting operations and maintain records for compliance audits.
  • Monitor site conditions and adapt lifting plans to changing environments.
  • Liaise with equipment manufacturers to arrange for maintenance and repairs.
  • Evaluate the performance of lifting personnel and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Investigate incidents related to lifting operations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in the procurement of new lifting equipment according to project needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Lifting Operation Specialist or similar position.
  • Strong understanding of lifting operations and related safety regulations.
  • Professional certifications in rigging, lifting, or crane operations preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure situations.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
