Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Engineer to join our team and contribute to the health, safety, and environmental development of our organization. The HSE Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring our work environments adhere to safety regulations and industry best practices while minimizing the impact of our operations on the environment. This expert will assess, plan, and implement policies to mitigate risks and promote a culture of safety and sustainability within the workplace. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, robust problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of HSE legislations and compliance requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective HSE policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments on varying operational activities.
  • Collaborate with department heads to integrate safety protocols in daily operations.
  • Ensure all equipment and processes meet compliance regulations and safety standards.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and preventive measures.
  • Deliver HSE training and awareness programs for employees at all levels.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation on inspections and any corrective actions.
  • Monitor legislative changes to ensure compliance with updated safety regulations.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and facilitating drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Advise management on changes in workplace safety and environmental health policies.
  • Create a safety-first culture by leading behavioral-based safety initiatives.
  • Work with third-party agencies to conduct thorough safety assessments and audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in HSE roles within industrial settings.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and regional health and safety regulations.
  • Proven track record of implementing successful HSE programs and policies.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are vital for success.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team on various projects.
  • Certification such as CSP, NEBOSH, or similar HSE qualifications will be advantageous.
