Heavy Bus Driver (225-702)

As a Heavy Bus Driver, you will be an essential part of our transportation team, responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations. The ideal candidate will possess a valid heavy bus driving license, have a clean driving record, and have extensive experience operating large passenger vehicles. Your role is crucial for ensuring reliable and timely transit service is provided.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy buses on assigned routes with a focus on passenger safety.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
• Comply with all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies at all times.
• Assist passengers in a courteous and professional manner, including helping with boarding and alighting.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of driving hours and mileage covered.
• Ensure that the buses are kept clean and in good operating condition through regular maintenance checks.
• Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the maintenance department immediately.
• Operate digital and manual tools to update route information and passenger records.
• Handle emergencies and difficult passenger situations calmly and efficiently.
• Ensure the security of all passengers and safeguard their belongings during transit.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated with best practices and driving safety standards.
• Provide feedback to the management team regarding route improvements and scheduling efficiencies.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid heavy vehicle driving license with no restrictions.
• A clean driving record with no recent major violations or accidents.
• Previous experience of at least two years operating heavy passenger vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and geographical familiarity with the area.
• Excellent communication skills in English, and proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
• Physically fit and able to assist passengers who require help boarding.
• Proven ability to handle stressful situations and respond to emergencies promptly.
• Demonstrate a high level of responsibility and reliability in punctuality and job performance.
