The opportunity
The Infrastructure Director leads the strategic planning, implementation, and management of enterprise-wide IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing cloud platforms, data centers, networks, storage, and security systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance. The role demands a visionary leader who can align infrastructure capabilities with business goals while driving innovation and operational excellence. He should be able to lead an independent function with the budget assigned as part of the portfolio
Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
Infrastructure Operations
Oversee daily operations of IT infrastructure including servers, storage, backup, network and M365.
Ensure 24x7 operational readiness and incident response capabilities.
Implement and maintain monitoring tools for proactive issue resolution.
Service Delivery & SLA Management
Ensure infrastructure services meet defined SLAs and KPIs.
Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and operational efficiency.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for service disruptions.
Resource & Vendor Management
Manage internal teams and external vendors to optimize resource allocation.
Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships for hardware/software procurement.
Ensure compliance with ITSM processes and governance frameworks.
Security & Compliance
Collaborate with security teams to enforce infrastructure security policies.
Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC standards and data protection regulations.
Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Qualifications
Required skills / qualifications
Overall 15+ years of experiences in IT Industry and Services
A minimum of 10+ years of technical Delivery and Implementation or technical consulting experience
Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Architect/Implementation Engineer or in a similar role, and large scale cloud migration projects (1000+ VMs)
A track record of successfully designing and implementing Microsoft solutions including Active Directory, Exchange, WSUS, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, etc
Knowledge in cloud architecture design principles, including scalability, availability, and security.
Experience with cloud migration strategies and tools, and the ability to assess the feasibility and risks associated with cloud adoption.
Proven experience with Containerization solutions Implementation and Design including K8S , AKS, EKS, etc
Proven experience with Infrastructure as a Code implementation and design including Terraform, ARM, etc.
Proven experience in large scale Cloud migration projects, including discovery, assessment, and migration for mission critical applications, using different tools.
Proven experience in cloud Dev/Ops implementation and design.
Experience with DR solutions and replication tools including Azure Site Recovery, carbonite
Identity and access control with experience administering B2B and B2C applications as well as a working knowledge of Azure AD.
Deep expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), virtualization (VMware), and networking.
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional
Enterprise Architecture – TOGAF 9 Certification
ITIL V3 Foundation Certificate, preferably ITIL Service Design or Transition Certification.
HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Certification on Active Directory Services and Exchange.
Expert in replication technologies; both storage (Nutanix, EMC, others) and host-based replication (DoubleTake, Veeam, Veritas)
Storage - Intermediate design experience in Fibre channel/Storage Networking using Cisco and Brocade switches. EMC (VMAX and VNX)/HP (12K, EVA and 3PAR) and NAS Design and Implementation
Backup (Networker, Netbackup, HP Data Protector, Veeam or Commvault). Expert knowledge on any 2.
