Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the healthcare team who works collaboratively with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and patients to provide high-quality care. They are responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. RNs provide care, education, and support to patients and their families, ensuring that all aspects of the healthcare process are efficient and patient-centered. They work in various settings including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and community health organizations. An RN must be compassionate, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to improving the patient care experience.


Responsibilities

  • Assess and diagnose patient conditions and collaborate on treatment plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or practitioners.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, behaviors, and responses to treatments.
  • Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient profiles and clinical documentation.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and manage pre and post-operative care.
  • Operate medical equipment with compliance to safety and infection control standards.
  • Develop and enforce protocols for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Participate in patient discharge planning and follow-up care coordination.
  • Attend continuous education and training sessions to enhance nursing skills.
  • Respond to emergencies with decisiveness and provide immediate intervention care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or an equivalent in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current, valid Registered Nurse license to practice is mandatory.
  • CPR certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills with proficiency in nursing assessments and interventions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Experience in specialized healthcare fields such as pediatric, geriatric, or ICU is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and handle high-stress situations effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining patient records.
