Job Description

An Automotive Spare Parts Store Keeper plays a crucial role in the seamless operation of vehicle maintenance and repair facilities. This position requires a keen understanding of automotive parts, an eye for detail, and excellent organizational skills. As a storekeeper, you will manage inventory, maintain records, and ensure that the right parts are available for all repair and maintenance operations. Your role will support the smooth functioning of the service department by ensuring quick turnaround times and minimizing vehicle downtime. Being a pivotal point between suppliers, service technicians, and customers, you play an essential role in delivering exceptional service and maintaining the company's reputation. This job requires a proactive approach to managing stock levels, a knack for logistics, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records by logging all movements of parts and supplies.
  • Order new stock and replenish existing stock to ensure consistent availability.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to procure automotive parts and negotiate purchase agreements.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for discrepancies or damages and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Manage and organize stockroom tools and equipment for efficient retrieval.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting technicians in locating required parts.
  • Conduct regular audits of stock levels to identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Prepare and distribute inventory reports to management highlighting critical stock levels.
  • Implement safety regulations to maintain a safe and clean store environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to plan and forecast part requirements.
  • Train new staff on inventory management and storekeeping procedures.
  • Optimize storage space by organizing and labeling products logically and effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics preferred.
  • Proven experience as a storekeeper in an automotive setting is essential.
  • Strong familiarity with automotive parts and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and handle heavy parts safely.
  • Competence in using inventory management software and databases.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers and team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing and recording stock data.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
