Job Description

The Assistant Sales Manager plays a critical role in enhancing the sales performance and supporting the strategic goals of the sales department within the organization. This position is ideal for an individual who excels in both planning and execution of sales strategies, providing leadership to the sales team, and fostering positive relationships with clients and stakeholders. The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for helping to drive sales initiatives, meet revenue targets, and ensure customer satisfaction. This role requires excellence in communication, a knack for problem-solving, and the ability to manage and motivate team members towards achieving organizational goals. As a bridge between upper management and the sales team, the Assistant Sales Manager must skillfully balance these dynamics to optimize performance effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Sales Manager in developing and implementing sales strategies and plans.
  • Monitor and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals through execution.
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to sales representatives and team members.
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine potential growth areas and client needs.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing complaints and resolving issues swiftly.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional strategies and campaigns.
  • Manage key accounts and maintain long-term business relationships with clients.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance and present findings to leadership.
  • Participate in meetings, trade shows, and conferences as a company representative.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual sales budget and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales or a similar role required.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing sales teams and meeting targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and work within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
