  • Provide essential vision therapy and low vision rehabilitation services.
  • Educate patients about eye health and preventive care to sustain optimal vision.
  • Refer patients to ophthalmologists for advanced medical or surgical treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in compliance with regulations.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and innovations in optometry.
  • Participate in marketing and community outreach activities to promote eye health.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Conduct workplace or school vision screenings and provide feedback reports.
  • Foster a welcoming and professional environment to encourage patient comfort.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
  • Valid state licensure to practice optometry and prescribe medications if needed.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a similar healthcare setting.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills with an ability to interpret test results efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
  • Commitment to continuous education and staying current with optometry trends.
  • Proficiency in using optometric instruments and technology for patient examinations.
