Were looking for an Electrical Specialist for Abu Dhabi lead, supervise, and execute all electrical aspects of Aggreko project scopes, including installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of high- and low-voltage temporary power systems. What You’ll Do
- Translate customer requirements into practical electrical applications and concept designs, coordinating with Engineering and SMEs to produce a complete project pack.
- Manage site delivery, installation, operation, and demobilisation of Aggreko electrical systems in accordance with the project plan
- Act as the responsible person for HV/LV switching and electrical isolation up to 66 kV, ensuring compliance with Aggreko and client electrical safety rules.
- Support commissioning and testing of power generation equipment, transformers, and distribution systems.
- Conduct advanced fault-finding, diagnostics, and root cause analysis on Aggreko electrical and control systems.
- Mentor and support Aggreko Technicians in developing technical skills and operational awareness.
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, and other QHSE workshops.
- Coordinate with Project Manager on resource allocation, materials, and subcontractor performance.
- Maintain site documentation, including permits to work, test sheets, and “as-built” drawings.
- Represent Aggreko in client meetings, providing progress updates and ensuring technical compliance.
- Identify and implement operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
You’ll Have The Following Skills And Experience
- Electrical or Mechanical qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, ONC, NVQ3 or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical engineering Desirable
- HV Switching Certification (e.g., Scottish Power)
- PMP / CAPM preferred
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in an electrical discipline, including supervisory or site lead experience in industrial or temporary power environments.
- Experience working with HV/LV systems up to 66 kV, including switching, isolation, and commissioning.
- Proven track record delivering temporary or industrial electrical installations (power generation, HFO/gas systems, transformers, etc.).
- Strong understanding of Aggreko’s standards or equivalent in large-scale industrial projects.
- Experience with Gas/HFO engines preferred
- Capable of performing root cause and trend analysis on electrical failures.
- Confident managing small to medium teams on live customer sites.
- Advanced knowledge of HV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, and power distribution.
- Capable of issuing electrical Permits to Work up to 66 kV.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting SLDs, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
- Competent in MS Office Suite and familiar with electrical design tools.
- Experienced in performing transformer oil sampling and analysis.
