Crane Operator

Key Responsibilities

  • Working as member of Construction Team at site. Operating cranes, carrying out daily inspection of crane, daily function test, working with maintenance staff to ensure crane is correctly maintained in good safe working condition. Operate vehicles involved in the construction and perform routine maintenance tasks on vehicles as and when necessary.
  • Work with rigging staff and lifting staff to inspect the job site and correctly understand the job requirements and suitability of site conditions and access.
  • Operate the crane for installation and erection of heavy equipment and for loading and unloading of materials at Project site and lay down yard.
  • Carry out daily inspections of the crane and report any defects or deficiencies
  • Ensure all safety systems of the cranes are functioning properly.
  • Check the lifting plan and ensure the load can be handled or erected without any damage to the crane and nearby equipment.
  • In case of any problem, report the same to the supervisor and ensure that the problem is rectified and the crane is safe to operate.
  • Be alert to changing environment, weather conditions at site to ensure safe operation of the crane.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings to review plans and proposed activity and ensure that lifting duties are within the capabilities of the crane
  • Move equipment and supplies to and from job sites
  • Works in hazardous areas under permit to work regulations.
  • Adapt to different / harsh weather environments.
  • Undertakes all required training activities to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform the duties as and when required by the direct Supervisor
