Job Description

A Telesales Executive plays a crucial role in driving the success of a sales-oriented organization by using their skills in communication and persuasion to sell products or services over the phone. This position is integral to the sales department, requiring individuals to engage prospective customers, identify their needs, and convert these opportunities into sales. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a persuasive demeanor, and a strong drive to meet sales targets. Being self-motivated and having the ability to handle rejections positively are key traits for a Telesales Executive. Additionally, this role involves building long-term relationships with customers and working closely with other team members to ensure sales targets are met and exceeded.


Responsibilities

  • Contact potential or existing customers to inform them about a product or service.
  • Answer questions about products or the company in a detailed and informative manner.
  • Ask questions to understand customer requirements to close sales effectively.
  • Direct prospects to the field sales team when needed for further engagement.
  • Enter and update customer information in the database accurately and promptly.
  • Handle grievances to preserve the company’s reputation and customer satisfaction.
  • Go the “extra mile” to meet and exceed sales quota and facilitate future sales.
  • Keep records of calls and sales and note useful information for sales strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve company and individual targets.
  • Adhere to scripts and guidelines but adjust them as needed for specific conversations.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of products and services to confidently contribute to sales pitches.
  • Participate in team meetings and share best practices with colleagues to enhance team performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as telesales representative or other sales/customer service role.
  • Ability to learn about products and services and describe/explain them to prospects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective sales.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues and address complaints.
  • Cool-tempered and able to handle customer rejection while remaining positive.
  • Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quota preferably over the phone.
  • Good knowledge of relevant computer programs and telephone systems.
