Job Description

A Presales System Engineer is integral to the success of any technology sales team. They blend technical expertise with excellent communication skills to assist in the sales process by providing solutions that meet client needs. This role involves getting deeply familiar with the company's products and services to demonstrate and articulate their benefits to potential customers. The Presales System Engineer works closely with sales teams, understanding customer requirements, and designing customized solutions that effectively address these needs. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying organizational challenges and opportunities, preparing detailed technical proposals, and participating in customer presentations to clearly explain technical concepts in a way that clients understand. They serve as the bridge between customers and the technical team, ensuring solutions meet technical and business objectives. The ideal candidate must be adaptable, have a deep technical acumen, and exceptional problem-solving capabilities.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and provide technical solutions.
  • Participate in customer meetings to ascertain and validate technical expectations.
  • Design and formulate customized solutions tailored to client requirements.
  • Develop and deliver high-level presentations and product demonstrations to clients.
  • Prepare detailed technical proposals that effectively communicate solutions and benefits.
  • Serve as the technical expert to convey benefits of complex technical solutions to potential clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of RFPs (Request for Proposals), ensuring technical specifications are accurate.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure solutions align with development and delivery capabilities.
  • Participate in post-sales support as required, facilitating a smooth transition to the implementation phase.
  • Provide feedback to product development teams based on client interactions and experiences.
  • Support channel partners with technical product knowledge and expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a presales engineering or comparable role.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of networking, software systems, and cloud computing technologies.
  • Ability to construct technical proposals, plans, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet with clients and stakeholders.
