Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and appearance of a hotel or facility, while supervising housekeeping staff to maintain high standards. This role demands excellent leadership and communication skills, as the supervisor must work closely with their team to ensure that assigned tasks are completed efficiently and according to the facility's quality standards. The incumbent is responsible for scheduling staff, assigning tasks, conducting inspections, and providing feedback. Additionally, the supervisor may handle guest inquiries or issues, ensuring a pleasant experience for patrons. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate housekeeping staff to ensure high-quality standards are met.
  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness.
  • Assign daily tasks to housekeeping team members based on occupancy and needs.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and requisition new materials as needed.
  • Train new housekeeping staff in cleaning and safety procedures.
  • Report maintenance and repair needs to the maintenance department promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all housekeeping activities.
  • Develop and implement efficient cleaning schedules and staff rotation plans.
  • Respond to guest complaints and special requests with professionalism and promptness.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experience and service.
  • Review and approve timesheets, ensuring accuracy for payroll processing.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and provide feedback to housekeeping staff.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a housekeeping supervisor or similar role in hospitality.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage various tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills for guiding and motivating staff.
  • Adept at problem-solving and handling guest concerns with discretion and care.
  • Thorough understanding of housekeeping procedures and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Proficiency in using housekeeping and management software systems beneficial.
