About The Program

The Industry Immersion Fellowship at Volvo Group is a unique program that enables university faculty and post-doctoral researchers to gain hands-on industry experience by working full-time with our technical team at Volvogroup.

About Role

Project Objectives:

  • Analyze current warehouse and logistics operations to identify improvement areas.
  • Apply lean methodologies and process improvement tools to reduce inefficiencies.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and material flow for better productivity.
  • Improve dealer order patterns to align with demand planning and reduce logistics costs.
  • Design and pilot milk-run concepts to improve transportation efficiency.
  • Develop and recommend sustainable logistics solutions that support environmental goals.
  • Deliver regular reports and final recommendations for long-term implementation.

Expected Outcomes

  • Improved supply chain efficiency and reduced logistics costs.
  • Practical recommendations for sustainable warehouse and transport practices.
  • Scalable solutions for inventory accuracy and order pattern management.
  • A detailed final report and presentation of findings to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Background

  • Currently pursuing a PhD/ Ph.D Completed Research Scholars in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with ability to handle large data sets.
  • Knowledge of lean methodologies and process improvement techniques.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems, ERP, and logistics optimization tools.Interest in sustainable logistics practices.
