Job Description

A Logistics Coordinator is a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the complex processes of supply chain and logistics operations. The primary responsibility is to ensure smooth, efficient, and cost-effective movement and distribution of goods. This role requires a highly organized individual who can juggle multiple tasks while keeping track of shipments, managing inventory levels, and coordinating with vendors and customers to ensure that products reach their destinations on time. The Logistics Coordinator must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure, as they will be liaising with various departments and stakeholders. They play a crucial role in optimizing the supply chain and logistics processes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency, finding the balance between meeting customer needs and maintaining company profitability.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the scheduling and logistics of shipments and deliveries.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation for all shipments and orders.
  • Monitor and track the status of shipments to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Liaise with suppliers, transport companies, and customers to streamline operations.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock while minimizing excess.
  • Develop and implement improvements in processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments promptly.
  • Prepare and analyze reports to optimize logistics performance and expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international logistics regulations.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring logistics-related expenditures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key providers and stakeholders.
  • Use logistics software and tools to improve inventory and dispatch management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder interactions.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and problem-solving skills.
