Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Azure Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and support secure, scalable, and high-performing Microsoft Azure solutions. This role is equal parts build and run—requiring strong engineering skills to deliver new capabilities as well as operational expertise to maintain and optimize existing environments.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in troubleshooting complex issues, and is passionate about automation, efficiency, and reliability. You will work closely with application, network, and security teams to ensure our Azure infrastructure remains robust, cost-effective, and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Deployment

  • Design, implement, and configure Azure resources including compute, storage, networking, and security services.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) to enable consistent, automated deployments.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline application delivery (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Collaborate with application teams to support deployments, integrations, and environment configuration.

Daily Operations & Support

  • Monitor cloud infrastructure health, performance, and costs using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Azure infrastructure and service issues in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform regular patching, updates, and configuration changes to ensure systems are secure and compliant.
  • Respond to incidents, service requests, and change requests in accordance with SLAs.

Automation & Optimization

  • Automate operational tasks using Ansible and Terraform.
  • Continuously review and optimize Azure resource usage for performance, availability, and cost.

Security & Governance

  • Implement and manage RBAC, security policies, and governance controls in Azure.
  • Partner with security teams to meet compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Maintain detailed technical documentation for cloud architectures, configurations, and operational processes.
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to peers on Azure best practices and troubleshooting techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in cloud engineering, with at least 3 years focused on Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services such as VMs, AKS, Functions, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, VNets, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep).
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Automation experience in Terraform, Ansible and related scripting.
  • Familiarity with Azure monitoring and observability tools.
  • Understanding of Azure networking concepts (subnets, NSGs, firewalls, load balancers).
  • Experience with Azure security configurations (Azure AD, Key Vault, encryption).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure certifications (Solutions Architect Expert, DevOps Engineer Expert, Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and Azure Arc.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible).
  • Exposure to enterprise application integration (Databricks, SAP ERP) in Azure environments.
