Sr Manager - Site Reliability Engineer

Essential Functions:

• Leading Data Platform Operations at Bangalore, India
• Managing all SLA/SLS/OLA for 50+ batch applications on Big Data Technology.
• Driving Value Add initiatives and SRU upliftment.
• Delivery Management from Bangalore.
• Performance Management of 50+ applications, participate in Design review, ensure SRE best practices are followed.
• Build Operational acceptance criteria for new applications.
• Knowledge Sharing in team Management
• Security Champion, ensure all vulnerabilities are patched on time.
• Root cause analysis driver for any issue observed in app.
• Incident, Problem (PBR), Change (CHG) tracking and timely resolution.
• ITSM Champion
• Work with Internal and external auditors. (SOX, RBI)
• Team mentorship and grooming.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of SRE engineers from Bangalore providing strategic and technical guidance and support.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Develop and implement professional development programs and succession planning for the team.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and oversight to engineers, hands on in any programing language (Python, Java) or shell script.
• Establish SRE best practices
• Ensure engineering and operational excellence (quality, security, performance, scalability, availability, resilience).

Collaboration & Strategy

• Collaborate with Product Development, Operations & Infrastructure, Auditors.
• Drive the coordination, organization, and execution of qualitative and quantitative decisions.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Basic Qualifications

8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD



Preferred Qualifications

9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

•10+ years of relevant work experience with bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or equivalent), OR 8+ years of relevant work experience with master’s degree in (Computer Science or equivalent)

•Proven experience In Managing a team of minimum 5 SRE engineers in Data Platform or similar Role, with a strong understanding of data architecture and pipeline design.

•Proficiency in anyone programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala or Shell scripting.

•Hands on Experience with Big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, or similar.

•Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

•Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

•Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•Good understanding of data security and privacy concerns.

•Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

•Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, along with superior verbal and written communication abilities.

•Excellent team player, with strong collaboration skills and ability to influence cross-functional team for results
