Job Description

A Medical Representative plays a crucial role in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. They serve as the principal point of contact between drug manufacturers or healthcare companies and medical professionals. Their primary responsibility is to promote and sell the company's medications to healthcare providers, ensuring that these products are adequately represented and prescribed. Medical Representatives are pivotal in building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals, gaining insights into the industry, and driving sales growth. They possess a deep understanding of their company’s products and the conditions that those medications treat, enabling them to explain the benefits of these products to healthcare providers. Furthermore, they stay updated with the latest health guidelines and pharmaceutical advancements, ensuring the best possible strategic approach to sales and marketing. A successful Medical Representative is persuasive, knowledgeable, and continuously striving to meet the company's and healthcare providers' needs.


Responsibilities

  • Promote pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals and build robust client relationships.
  • Schedule and conduct face-to-face meetings with healthcare providers to discuss products.
  • Stay updated on new healthcare products and industry trends for better service delivery.
  • Organize and attend medical conferences to stay informed on healthcare developments.
  • Detail product specifications, benefits, and conditions of use to healthcare professionals.
  • Achieve sales targets by ensuring the thorough promotion of the company’s products.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team for strategic planning and execution of promotional activities.
  • Keep accurate records of sales calls, customer profiles, and sales performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement territory action plans to ensure effective product positioning.
  • Assist in resolving customer issues regarding medication usage or product inquiries.
  • Participate in workshops and educational programs to enhance product and sales knowledge.
  • Provide feedback from the field to company management for continuous product improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong sales and customer service background within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage clients.
  • Ability to quickly learn and retain pharmaceutical product information and healthcare trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Capability to maintain and develop relationships with healthcare professionals and clients.
  • Proficiency with sales software and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
