Job Description

The role of a Purchase Executive is critical in ensuring that a company’s supply chain is efficient and cost-effective. A Purchase Executive is tasked with sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers to secure the best possible prices and quality for the company's needed products and services. They analyze and understand market trends, supplier capabilities, and costs, and they play a key role in inventory management and resource allocation to minimize costs and maximize efficiency. The role often requires quick decision-making, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure day-to-day operations run seamlessly. Staying up-to-date with industry standards and emerging technologies, Purchase Executives play a pivotal role in maintaining the competitiveness of the company while building long-term relationships with key suppliers.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to guide purchasing operations.
  • Identify potential suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to optimize costs.
  • Ensure that all procured products and services meet quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff to forecast demand.
  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important procurement data.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and develop improvement plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing with company objectives.
  • Resolve disputes and issues with suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures in procurement activities.
  • Analyze market trends to anticipate changes in the market and adjust strategies.
  • Coordinate with finance department to manage budgets and track spending.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchase Executive or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a strategic approach to supplier management.
  • Excellent analytical skills for evaluating market trends and supplier performance.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in use of procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for vendor relations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing documents.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as inventory control.
