Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood samples from patients.

• Manage and process laboratory orders and requisitions proficiently and efficiently.

• Maintain accurate records of blood tests and procedures performed on patients.
• Ensure all equipment is in working order and report any malfunctions immediately.
• Assist with inventory management by ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
• Coordinate effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and care.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated with best practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification is preferred.
• Certified Phlebotomist qualification from a recognized accrediting body required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a similar healthcare setting preferred.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary blood collection techniques.
• Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Basic computer skills are necessary for data entry and laboratory reporting.
