Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and ensuring the smooth execution of logistical operations within a company. This position involves coordinating various elements of the supply chain, from ordering and shipping of goods to managing inventory and delivery schedules. The ideal candidate will be adept at multitasking and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be detail-oriented. They are the pivotal link between warehousing, transportation services, and third-party logistics providers, ensuring that the company's products reach the end customer efficiently and on time. A Logistics Coordinator must be able to analyze logistics data, suggest improvements, and implement strategic initiatives to optimize the logistics process, all while maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the logistics department.
  • Manage transportation and logistics functions to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to ensure smooth and efficient supply chain operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment to avoid shortages or excesses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to logistics and transportation.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on logistics performance and KPIs.
  • Analyze logistics data and implement cost-saving strategies to improve efficiency.
  • Plan and execute shipping schedules, ensuring accurate documentation is prepared.
  • Resolve any problems or complaints from internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Assist in developing logistics strategies to streamline operational processes.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a logistics or supply chain coordination role.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective liaison.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as ERP and TMS.
  • Ability to develop solutions and implement process improvements successfully.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to assess performance metrics.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with scheduling and managing international and domestic shipments.
