Job Description

The role of a Housekeeping Supervisor is a pivotal one in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of a facility, whether it's a hotel, hospital, or office building. The supervisor is charged with ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness are consistently met and sustained. This position requires a blend of leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to train and manage a team of housekeeping staff. The Housekeeping Supervisor aids in planning work schedules, monitoring performance, conducting inspections, and addressing any customer complaints with professionalism. The role demands a proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a keen eye for detail to ensure each room or area is well-maintained and meets or exceeds guest expectations.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide housekeeping staff in cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect the work of housekeeping staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
  • Manage the daily schedule and assign tasks to the housekeeping team.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to address and resolve facility issues promptly.
  • Train new and existing staff in effective cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
  • Ensure all areas stocked with necessary supplies like linen and cleaning materials.
  • Report any damage or maintenance needs to the relevant department quickly.
  • Respond to and resolve guest complaints regarding cleanliness and housekeeping services.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback to improve service standards.
  • Maintain records of inspections, supplies, and equipment for reporting and analysis.
  • Coordinate with management to support the facility's operational needs.
  • Implement sustainability practices by recommending eco-friendly cleaning solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or a similar role in a relevant setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are a must.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills for interactions with staff and guests.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification is advantageous.
