Job Description

A Store Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operations of a retail business. They are responsible for interacting with customers, restocking shelves, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store, and supporting the sales team. This position requires excellent customer service skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. As a Store Assistant, you will collaborate with different team members to provide a positive shopping experience for customers. Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers as they enter the store and offer help.
  • Answer customer queries about products, prices, availability, and store policies.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, ensuring neat displays.
  • Restock shelves and manage inventory to ensure all products are available.
  • Operate cash registers, handle transactions, and process purchases efficiently.
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of special sales events.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to achieve store-wide sales targets.
  • Monitor security within the store to minimize theft and loss prevention.
  • Receive deliveries and manage stockroom organization and stock levels.
  • Communicate customer feedback and suggestions to the store manager effectively.
  • Provide in-depth product knowledge to help educate customers on selections.
  • Support promotional activities and maintain visual merchandising standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in retail sales or similar customer service role desired.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Customer-oriented attitude with a friendly and engaging personality.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including using point of sale systems.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
