Job Description

The role of an Assistant Restaurant Manager is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a restaurant. This position supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily activities, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining operational standards. An Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for managing staff, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a strong understanding of restaurant operations, and an ability to provide outstanding customer service. An ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality management and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude. As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be a key player in the restaurant’s success, helping to drive business growth and maintain a welcoming and efficient dining environment.


Responsibilities

  • Assist Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations and staff management activities.
  • Ensure highest customer satisfaction levels by addressing and resolving customer complaints.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking supplies and ingredients.
  • Implement and uphold company policies, procedures, and operational standards consistently.
  • Train, mentor, and guide new and existing restaurant staff for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food orders delivery.
  • Monitor food quality and safety standards to comply with health regulations.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate objectives and discuss restaurant performance.
  • Handle shift scheduling and ensure adequate staff coverage during peak hours.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for cost control improvements.
  • Work closely with the Restaurant Manager to develop promotional strategies and events.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment to achieve team goals effectively.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or similar role in a restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills to inspire team performance.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff and customers.
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and manage stress effectively.
  • Solid understanding of restaurant management software and point of sale systems.
  • Knowledge of food health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
