Job Description

The Front Desk Supervisor is a pivotal role within any hospitality or customer service organization, ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk and exceptional customer service. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing the staff and operations of the front desk, acting as a leader and motivator for team members. The successful candidate will maintain high standards of service while also managing the administrative duties that keep the department running effectively. They are the face of the company, ensuring that each guest’s experience is positive from the moment they arrive until their departure. Good leadership, communication skills, and a knack for problem-solving are essential in this role. The Front Desk Supervisor should lead by example, striving for excellence in all aspects of their work, and fostering an environment where team members do the same.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the front desk to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Provide leadership, training, and support to the front desk team members.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences and services.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and emergencies efficiently and professionally.
  • Maintain and update guest records, reservations, and billing information accurately.
  • Ensure front desk supplies and equipment are well stocked and maintained.
  • Develop and implement front desk policies and procedures to enhance service quality.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide feedback to front desk staff.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the front desk department.
  • Supervise cash handling and ensure financial policies are adhered to diligently.
  • Monitor staff scheduling and shifts to ensure optimal coverage at all times.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive and professional work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory front desk role.
  • Proficiency with front desk software systems and basic computer applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding leadership abilities with proven experience managing a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
