Job Description

The Application Manager for Sales Technology Systems is a pivotal role centered around the management and optimization of sales-related technology platforms within an organization. This position requires a keen understanding of both sales processes and technological solutions that drive revenue growth and operational efficiency. As an Application Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of sales technology systems that align with business objectives and support sales strategies. You will engage with various stakeholders including sales teams, IT personnel, and external vendors to ensure that the sales technology applications are robust, user-friendly, and scalable. Your role will involve analysis of current systems, proposal of enhancements, and leadership of projects aimed at improving the overall effectiveness and efficiency of sales operations through technology. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the sales teams are well-supported through reliable and efficient technological solutions, which will, in turn, contribute to achieving the organization’s sales targets and business goals.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and management of sales technology systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with sales and IT teams to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Manage the lifecycle of sales applications including development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Analyze and assess current technology systems to identify gaps or areas for improvement.
  • Lead and participate in projects aimed at integrating new technology solutions with existing systems.
  • Provide training and support to sales teams on the use of technology tools and systems.
  • Ensure the data integrity and security of all sales technology applications and solutions.
  • Work closely with vendors to negotiate contracts and manage relationships for sales technologies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to systems processes, changes, and enhancements.
  • Monitor technology trends and suggest new tools or enhancements to improve sales productivity.
  • Lead budget planning and management for technology investments within the sales department.
  • Facilitate communication and resolve conflicts between sales teams and technical teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technology management within a sales environment.
  • Proven experience with sales technology tools such as CRM, ERP, or sales force automation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and propose comprehensive solutions for improvement.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and agile development techniques is a plus.
