Job Description

An Accountant - Reconciliation plays a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy of a company's financial data. This professional is responsible for reconciling bank statements, ensuring all necessary documents are accounted for and that all transactions are properly recorded. The role demands a detailed-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and possesses excellent analytical skills. The accountant is expected to possess knowledge of accounting principles and be proficient in using relevant financial software. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate bank reconciliations for all organization accounts.
  • Analyze and resolve any discrepancies identified during reconciliation procedures.
  • Maintain ledger accuracy by verifying and posting transaction details regularly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules monthly.
  • Review financial data regularly to ensure compliance with accounting regulations.
  • Develop and implement controls for the reconciliation process to improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate their auditing processes as required.
  • Generate periodic reports on reconciliation activities for management review and assessment.
  • Conduct research and stay updated on current reconciliation tools and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reconciliation processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure all accounting records are accurately maintained in accordance with financial policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in reconciliation or similar accounting roles is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy are mandatory.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is a must-have skill.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities under tight deadlines are needed.
  • Outstanding communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
