Job Description

A Logistics Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing supply chain processes and ensuring the smooth operation of product distribution and transportation. This role is essential in maintaining the flow of goods, from the point of origin to the destination, in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. The Logistics Coordinator works closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure timely and effective delivery of products. The job requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. As the lynchpin of logistics operations, the coordinator will be expected to resolve any issues that may arise during the transport and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily shipments to ensure on-time delivery and meet customer needs.
  • Oversee product storage and distribution within the company’s logistics framework.
  • Collaborate with transportation providers to schedule delivery times and routes.
  • Ensure all logistics operations comply with government and industry regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place replenishment orders as necessary.
  • Process and manage shipping documentation such as invoices and shipping orders.
  • Resolve any issues concerning over- or under-deliveries and shipment discrepancies.
  • Communicate with clients and suppliers regarding delivery changes and logistics queries.
  • Develop strong relationships with vendors and transportation companies.
  • Conduct regular audits of logistics procedures and implement improvements as needed.
  • Analyze logistics data to improve the efficiency and reduce costs of operations.
  • Prepare and present logistics performance reports to management regularly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in logistics coordination or a closely related role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage diverse logistics operations.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, suppliers, and customers effectively.
  • Proficient in logistics and inventory management software such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Good problem-solving skills to address and resolve logistical issues and challenges.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle tight deadlines efficiently.
  • Familiar with transportation management systems and supply chain processes.
