Job Description

As a Motor Claims Officer, you will play a critical role in managing and processing motor insurance claims for our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a smooth and efficient claims process, from initial notification through to final settlement. You will be required to liaise with clients to gather relevant information, assess damages, determine liability, and negotiate settlements. This role demands a strong understanding of motor insurance policies, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to handle potentially contentious situations with professionalism. You will be part of a dedicated team, working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and a commitment to customer service are vital.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, record, and investigate motor insurance claims in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate policy coverage to determine eligible claims for settlement.
  • Gather necessary information and documentation from clients and third parties.
  • Analyze and assess damage reports to determine the extent of liability.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates and gather additional details as needed.
  • Negotiate settlements with clients and third-party representatives to resolve claims efficiently.
  • Ensure all claims processing activities adhere to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of claims and communications in company systems.
  • Collaborate with legal and technical teams to support complex claims resolution.
  • Prepare detailed claims reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor claim payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness of settlements.
  • Continuously improve claim processes and provide feedback to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in motor claims or insurance handling.
  • Strong knowledge of motor insurance policies and claims procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for handling client interactions.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with claims management software.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach.
