Job Description

The Contract Management Officer is a key player in ensuring that all contracts within an organization are efficiently negotiated, implemented, and managed to meet legal and business requirements. This role involves in-depth interaction with legal teams, vendors, internal stakeholders, and management to safeguard the organization’s interests. The officer is responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and documenting agreements while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. A successful Contract Management Officer has strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. They play a critical role in minimizing risks and maximizing value in every contract.


Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain a contract management system for monitoring contract status and renewals.
  • Liaise with legal, procurement, and other departments to gather contract requirements.
  • Analyze contractual terms and conditions for risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on contract policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all contracts adhere to applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on contract status and upcoming renewals.
  • Negotiate with vendors and stakeholders to optimize contract terms and conditions.
  • Resolve conflicts and discrepancies in contract terms promptly and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement effective contract management processes and practices.
  • Conduct contract audits to ensure all contractual obligations are executed correctly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in contract management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and industry-specific regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple contracts simultaneously.
