Job Description

A Field Service Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and functionality of equipment across various industries. They act as the bridge between the customers and the company, ensuring that all machinery is operating smoothly and services meet the clients' technical standards. Travelling to client sites is a significant part of the job, demanding flexibility, independence, and a high level of technical expertise. Field Service Engineers are expected to conduct installations, repairs, and maintenance of equipment, as well as provide technical support and customer training. Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of complex machinery and equipment.
  • Provide on-site support and technical assistance to customers and clients as required.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning efficiently and meet operational standards at client locations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks to prolong the operating life of equipment.
  • Generate detailed service reports and submit them to supervisors and clients appropriately.
  • Assist in the establishment of service protocols to enhance service delivery efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest technical advancements in the field service engineering industry.
  • Collaborate with the sales and engineering team to resolve customer queries and complaints.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of service parts and tools in an organized manner.
  • Provide technical training to clients on equipment usage and maintenance best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Improve customer satisfaction through professional and effective communication and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Electrical, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in field service engineering, preferably in a similar technical environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively and work on-call hours, responding to client needs.
  • Familiarity with the latest industry technologies and service delivery best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and service manuals effectively.
