The role of a Pricing Executive in Freight Forwarding is pivotal in ensuring that freight services are competitively priced to attract and retain clients. This position requires a strategic mindset, analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the freight forwarding industry. As a Pricing Executive, you will be responsible for developing pricing models and strategies that align with market trends and company objectives. This involves collaboration with sales, operations, and finance teams to evaluate vendors, assess risks, and forecast costs. Your efforts will directly impact the company's profitability and customer satisfaction, necessitating a proactive approach to market changes and competitor pricing strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic pricing models for freight forwarding services.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and market demands.
  • Analyze competitor pricing strategies and market trends to stay competitive.
  • Evaluate and negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers for optimal pricing.
  • Monitor and forecast freight costs to support financial planning and budgeting.
  • Prepare detailed pricing quotations and proposals for clients and prospects.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to ensure pricing aligns with service capabilities.
  • Maintain and manage pricing databases and ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Review and update pricing strategies to respond to market and economic changes.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis for senior management review.
  • Conduct regular pricing audits to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
  • Provide training and support to sales teams on pricing tools and calculations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in pricing within freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret large sets of data.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience dealing with carriers and suppliers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and pricing software tools for modeling and analysis.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interactions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
