Job Description

As a Bakery Chef, you are a vital part of the culinary team, responsible for creating an array of delightful baked goods that satisfy the taste buds of our customers. You will be expected to use your creativity and culinary expertise to develop both traditional and innovative baking recipes whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, freshness, and hygiene. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, often collaborating with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to deliver an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities

  • Develop and bake a variety of bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods daily.
  • Ensure all bakery items meet established quality and presentation standards consistently.
  • Collaborate with culinary team to create new and innovative bakery recipes regularly.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the bakery section efficiently and effectively.
  • Order and maintain inventory of baking supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior bakers and kitchen staff in baking techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the bakery environment always.
  • Monitor baking processes and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Assess feedback from customers and staff to continuously improve products and services.
  • Decorate pastries and desserts to ensure an appealing final presentation for customers.
  • Participate in menu development meetings to contribute creative bakery ideas and concepts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery area to ensure maximum productivity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bakery Chef or relevant role in a similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of baking techniques and flavor profiles is essential.
  • Excellent creativity and imagination for developing new baking innovations regularly.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously effectively.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a bakery team.
  • Certification or formal training in baking or culinary arts is highly desirable.
