Waiter/Waitress

The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a dining establishment. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and seat customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Provide menu recommendations and answer questions about menu items.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Enter orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Ensure orders are correctly prepared and served to customers.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely order delivery.
• Set and clear tables before and after guests' meals.
• Ensure tables are clean and properly set with utensils, glassware, and condiments.
• Monitor and refill drinks and condiments as needed.
• Address customer inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Anticipate customer needs and provide proactive service.
• Present bills and process payments accurately.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions following established procedures.
• Return change and receipts promptly.
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers to maintain a cohesive team environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Report any safety or maintenance issues to the supervisor.

• Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in the foodservice industry is a plus but not required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and active listening abilities.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and professionally.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic math skills for handling payments.
• Knowledge of food and beverage menu items.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the restaurant's policies and procedures.
