Occupational Therapist (225-711)

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be instrumental in helping individuals improve their ability to perform daily tasks and activities through therapeutic methods and exercises. You will work with patients of all ages who are dealing with physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges to develop, recover, or maintain the daily living and work skills they need. Your ability to assess, plan, and implement tailored occupational therapy interventions will contribute to your patients’ improved quality of life. A successful Occupational Therapist is empathetic, intuitive, and skilled at creating customized treatment plans that focus on the therapeutic use of everyday activities, developing new skills, and adapting environments to enhance patients' independence and occupational engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional status to develop personalized therapy plans.
• Design individualized treatment programs that address specific patient goals and needs.
• Help patients perform tasks to improve their daily living and working skills.
• Evaluate and record patient progress regularly, adjusting plans as needed.
• Educate family members and caregivers on patient needs and therapeutic exercises.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide patients with adaptive equipment and educate on its proper use.
• Organize group therapy sessions focusing on social, physical, and cognitive skill development.
• Keep updated documentation of patient evaluations, reports, and treatment plans.
• Participate in continuous professional development and stay abreast of industry changes.
• Communicate patient progress and challenges to family members and healthcare providers.
• Work within community settings to enhance patient integration and accessibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid  license as an Occupational Therapist.
• Proven experience as an Occupational Therapist in varied clinical settings.
• Strong understanding of therapeutic methods and adaptive devices usage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential for patient care.
• Ability to devise personalized treatment plans to suit individual patient needs.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practice standards.
• Hands-on experience with a diverse patient population in a therapeutic environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address complex patient conditions effectively.
