Job Description

A Service Advisor acts as the bridge between customers and the service department ensuring seamless communication and exceptional service delivery. As a front-facing role, a Service Advisor is responsible for interpreting customer concerns, conveying necessary service actions and ensuring that anticipated repairs are conducted proficiently. An adept Service Advisor possesses a thorough understanding of vehicle functionalities and service needs, ultimating in relaying this technical information in an easily digestible manner to customers. This role is critical in fostering client trust and promoting the integrity of the service department. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, a keen eye for detail, and have the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic work environment. Being organized, with a strategic approach to problem-solving, a successful Service Advisor ensures the efficiency of service operations while also maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner upon their arrival.
  • Listen attentively to customer concerns and communicate them to the service department.
  • Schedule service appointments and inform customers of the progress and completion time.
  • Explain services provided and associated costs to the customers clearly.
  • Update customer records and service history accurately in the company database.
  • Advise on necessary service repairs and maintain an estimate of service duration.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are returned washed and cleaned after service.
  • Coordinate effectively with parts and service technicians to meet customer demands.
  • Handle customer complaints diplomatically and provide feasible solutions proactively.
  • Promote and upsell additional services to enhance vehicle performance.
  • Monitor the service process and ensure quality control standards are met.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest automotive technologies and service standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; automotive certificate or degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor or similar customer service role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an approachable attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficient with automotive systems and knowledgeable about service standards.
  • Ability to use service and parts management systems effectively.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
