Job Description

The Financial Controller is a strategic role crucial to the financial health and success of an organization. This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional who can manage the organization's financial operations, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide insightful financial reporting and forecasts. The ideal candidate will lead the accounting team, be responsible for day-to-day financial activities, and serve as a key financial advisor to senior management. This role demands a collaborative mindset with exceptional communication skills to relay financial insights and drive strategic decision-making. The Financial Controller will work closely with auditors, executives, and department managers to optimize financial performance and strategic planning.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the accounting team to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures for organizational compliance.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory and compliance financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll and associated tasks.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management to ensure efficiency.
  • Conduct internal audits to identify and mitigate financial risks effectively.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and advice to support strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with senior management on financial planning and forecasting activities.
  • Review and approve financial transactions and reconciliations for accuracy.
  • Implement best practices for financial management to improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead the organization’s annual audit process with external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with financial management software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance professionals.
  • Strong leadership qualities and experience managing a finance team effectively.
  • Proven track record of managing financial projects from conception to execution.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
