Job Description

As an Estimator cum Procurement Officer, your dual role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health and seamless supply chain of our projects. Your primary responsibility will involve estimating project costs and managing procurement processes. Your expertise will guide the budgeting phase, ensuring accuracy and feasibility while concurrently managing the procurement of materials and services essential for project implementation. You will work closely with project managers, suppliers, and vendors to negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and find cost-effective solutions. Your analytical skills will help in forecasting demand and monitoring market trends, ensuring that our procurement strategies align with project timelines and budgets. This role is essential in maintaining both cost efficiency and quality standards, ensuring the overall success and sustainability of our projects.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze project requirements and accurately estimate costs for budgeting purposes.
  • Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Develop and maintain a database of suppliers, materials, and services for procurement activities.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and conditions.
  • Monitor market trends to select cost-effective and high-quality materials and services.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials to meet project implementation schedules.
  • Oversee the preparation and issuance of purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Evaluate bids and proposals to determine optimal suppliers for project needs.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, resolving any issues that may arise during procurement.
  • Track project costs and report any variations from the initial estimate to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement cost control measures to improve financial efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed reports on procurement activities and project expenditure for management review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in estimating or procurement in a project-based environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data accurately.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Proficient in using procurement and estimation software tools and databases.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders effectively.
