Job Description

The Aquatics Event Lead is a crucial role responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing aquatic events ranging from competitive swimming meets, water polo tournaments, synchronized swimming, and more. This position demands a dynamic individual capable of working efficiently in high-pressure environments and liaising with multiple stakeholders. The Aquatics Event Lead will manage the entire spectrum of event logistics, including scheduling, staffing, compliance with safety regulations, and budget management. By ensuring seamless operations, this role plays a vital part in enhancing the aquatic program's reputation and providing memorable experiences for participants and audiences alike. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, along with a passion for aquatic sports and events.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize aquatic events ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Coordinate with local, regional, and national aquatic organizations and associations.
  • Oversee event logistics, including equipment setup, facility preparation, and safety protocols.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring financial objectives are achieved.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise event staff, volunteers, and referees.
  • Communicate efficiently with participants, coaches, and key stakeholders to ensure clarity.
  • Prepare and distribute event schedules, managing any necessary updates or changes.
  • Monitor events to ensure a high standard of service and participant safety is maintained.
  • Facilitate emergency response protocols and handle any incidents with discretion and efficiency.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Develop marketing strategies to promote events and increase attendance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors for event-related services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Event Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in managing aquatic events or programs.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership qualities with proven experience in team management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aquatic sports rules, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software applications.
