Job Description

The Store Assistant for Automotive Spare Parts plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of an automotive spare parts store. This position is responsible for managing inventory, assisting customers with their enquiries and purchases, and supporting the store manager in daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of automotive parts. They should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be familiar with stocking, inventory management, and sales processes. Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in finding the appropriate automotive spare parts for their needs.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure the store is adequately stocked at all times.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale.
  • Receive and organize incoming stock to ensure items are prepared for sale promptly.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe store environment for customers and staff.
  • Identify and report discrepancies in inventory to the store manager immediately.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any queries or concerns with professionalism.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers.
  • Support marketing initiatives such as promotions and product displays within the store.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and new products to better assist customers.
  • Assist in counting and auditing inventory for accuracy on a regular basis.
  • Participate in regular training to maintain knowledge of automotive parts and store protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in retail or automotive spare parts environment preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to assist diverse customer needs.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and point of sale systems.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods during shifts.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage stock effectively.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, to meet store staffing needs.
