The Sr. Program Manager role will help craft the strategy and execution plans for large scale projects for Amazon Logistics for Saudi and Heavy and Bulky (AMXL) network. We seek a highly skilled and motivated leader to drive innovative solutions to the way in which we deliver products to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team in a rapidly growing area within Amazon. An ideal candidate should have an extensive background in program management, operations and cross-functional leadership (matrix organisation) for large scale strategic initiatives. S/he should have the ability to influence without authority, create product/program visions, manage complex multi tech/ops/business org opportunities, drive execution of programs, pull and analyze data with ease, drive process improvements and standardize/create scalable processes leveraging technology. This job will require exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with Business, Operations, and tech stakeholders, while having the ability to work independently in a high pressure environment with all levels of leadership and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist. The successful candidate will be proficient at solving logistics complex problem with high level of ambiguity and possess a bias to get things done (Deliver Results) and to think long term for creating sustainable and efficient strategies within the DSP space to cater Amazon Logistics need.

Needed Skills And Abilities

  • Influencing without authority: Innovative leader with the ability to identify opportunities and influence stakeholders across functions to gain support and overcome resistance with data and persuasion
  • Building and Developing a strong relationships with cross-functional teams: Significant experience with influencing different teams / leaders with a data driven approach and ensuring to earn trust through interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Communication: Ability to communicate expectations and requirements equally well with business and technology teams at all levels, and capacity to write well-reasoned and data-driven proposals, performing your own data analysis as necessary
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, to structure ambiguous situations and to use data analysis to the extent possible to find and drive solutions
  • Delivering Results: Ability to successfully deliver end-to-end complex technology and operations projects under tight timelines, working through the multiple constraints along the way

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage existing program, successfully delivering difficult projects and goals across multiple organizations
  • Work directly with internal / external stakeholders to craft and deliver scalable solutions
  • Design Strategies and strategic planning for projects
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to Saudi Arabia and other countries within Africa and Middle East.
  • Own program communication, accelerating progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers (e.g., path to green), escalating as appropriate
  • Influence cross-functional projects that may impact DSP Programs and work collaborative to develop strategic plans
  • Look for opportunities to improve program quality and operational excellence

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Business strategy or Non-Tech Program Management experience
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Bachelors degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Masters degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
  • Arabic language knowledge
