The Senior Procurement Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation) plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing procurement activities for electrical and instrumentation materials and services. This position requires extensive experience in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management to ensure the procurement process is efficient and cost-effective. The role's focus is to support project requirements and ensure timely delivery of quality products while adhering to company policies and industry standards. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of contract management, capable of building long-lasting relationships with vendors, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex procurement challenges. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Senior Procurement Engineer will identify potential suppliers, evaluate supplier performance, and implement strategic procurement processes to reduce costs and increase competitiveness. In addition to functional expertise, this candidate should be able to contribute effectively to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence in procurement activities.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for electrical and instrumentation projects.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify and evaluate potential suppliers and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure the highest quality and timely delivery of materials.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand detailed procurement needs and specifications.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance through regular assessments and feedback mechanisms.
  • Ensure procurement processes comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Optimize purchasing processes and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Lead the resolution of any procurement-related issues or conflicts that may arise.
  • Maintain thorough records of procurement activities to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Liaise with logistics teams to coordinate efficient delivery schedules and methods.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements regularly.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in procurement within electrical and instrumentation sectors.
  • Proficient understanding of contract management, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain management principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex procurement issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural environment.
