Job Description

A Senior Mechanical Engineer is a highly skilled professional responsible for leading and managing mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion. They work closely with various teams to design, develop, and implement mechanical solutions for products, systems, and components. Senior Mechanical Engineers play a crucial role in ensuring that all engineering projects are carried out efficiently, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. They are involved in researching and analyzing customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. In addition, they are responsible for conducting analytical and detailed engineering studies to develop new or improve existing mechanical designs. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, solid experience in mechanical design and fabrication, and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project goals.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the mechanical engineering activities of complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with other system components.
  • Analyze project requirements and customer needs to propose effective mechanical solutions.
  • Prepare and present detailed engineering reports and design proposals to stakeholders.
  • Assess the feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and performance of new designs and engineering processes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for engineering projects.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately and is in compliance with regulations.
  • Engage with clients to discuss technical specifications and deliver personalized engineering solutions.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve objectives within set constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering and project management.
  • Proven experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other mechanical design software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management and quality control processes.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred but not mandatory.
