Job Purpose
JOB DESCRIPTION
Develop systems and strategies to generate profitable growth in the supply of spare parts and service in the port segment of the worldwide mechanical handling equipment business. Provide support to director procurement and logistics, taking responsibility for the completion of commercial agreements in the procurement, sourcing, and distribution of spare parts initially based around the Contribute to develop WCS in this specialist market, to create growth and add value for our clients. Work closely with COO and directors in the development of the WCS relationship with vendors in the provision of spare parts to mutual customers in the middle east region and beyond.
Key Accountabilities
- Weekly reporting to Director procurement and logistics on the sales & procurement activities.
- Develop agreements and relationships with key component suppliers
- In agreement with Director procurement and logistics to do marketing actions to strengthen WCS position in the spare parts and service sector in a strategic manner
- Work closely with WCS management, Projects Team and COO to develop market share in Middle East, Latin America & Africa in association with service business sector
- Advise and assist team in the development and increase the sales of the products where WCS is appointed agent / distributor for the spare parts sales. Key goal being to enhance customer service levels and generate growth of WCS
- Work closely with Director Procurement and Logistics to improve service to External Customers, DPW Engineering & DPW terminals, whilst creating business opportunities for WCS
- Ensure that the team keeps external and internal customers informed in time and WCS services are promoted at all times.
- Assist Director procurement and logistics to research new products and vendors in order to maintain market leading services and solutions for WCS.
- Ensure that the highest level of safety is applied in all WCS activities.
- Monitor a HSE compliance policy and report discrepancies to director procurement and logistics..
- Supervision of the procurement department for all BU.
- Pricing negotiations & credit line discussion with vendors.
- Adapting of Fusion to best practice, improved efficiency and accurate reporting.
- Support to WCS staff for identification of products & suppliers.
- Manage & supervision of logistics for all BU.
- Rate negotiations with forwarders & 3TPL suppliers.
- Adapting of Fusion to best practice, improved efficiency and accurate reporting.
- Monitoring customers satisfaction on services levels for supply and deliveries.
- Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound.
- Act as an ambassador for WCS FZE at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Founder’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications, Experience And Skills
- Very strong engineering knowledge within Port industry.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in the Mechanical Handling Industry (min. 12 years).
- International business experience – essential.
- Complete supply chain logistics expertise (min 7 years).
- Experience and understanding of procuring and selling spare parts in the Global Port industry essential (min. 10 years).
- Documentation and report writing.
- High degree of familiarity of Microsoft programs – excel, word, powerpoint etc.
- HNC In Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in implementation of business systems.
- Contract and Commercial administration.
- Excellent English Language skills.
- Ability to deal with people at all levels.
- Confidence and ability to take decisions.
- Good knowledge on IT system & networks.
