Job Description

  • Lead and manage the operations of a Mashreq Securities, ensuring compliance with local and regional regulations and standards.
  • Ensuring that all Mashreq Securities operations deals are processed as per the investment plan and that the deals are correctly settled on time so that bank incurs no additional cost.
  • Oversee the delivery of insightful MIS and risk reporting, leveraging control frameworks and risk tools to proactively identify, measure, and mitigate risks across all operational processes
  • Maintain the highest levels of operational efficiency and integrity.
  • Operational Oversight & Control Provide strategic supervision of domestic and regional equities operations, ensuring accurate settlement, reconciliation, and portfolio integrity across platforms such as Trade Net, DFM, ADX, and GCC markets. Maintain robust controls to prevent trade mismatches, failed settlements, and financial exposure.
  • Risk & Margin Management Oversee margin monitoring for domestic and GCC customers, ensuring timely issuance and resolution of margin calls. Lead proactive risk mitigation by maintaining adequate funding across settlement accounts and ensuring compliance with market parameters and LTV thresholds.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Reporting Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly and annual regulatory reports to SCA, VAT reconciliations to FTA, and insider trading disclosures to Compliance. Supervise firm license renewals and ensure all regulatory obligations are met within prescribed timelines.
  • Customer Lifecycle & Appropriateness Monitoring Lead classification and notification processes for customer trading appropriateness, dormancy management, and NPV-based segmentation. Ensure trade rules and margin setups are correctly assigned and updated in line with SCA guidelines.
  • Corporate Actions & Market Engagement Oversee execution and communication of corporate actions across UAE and regional markets. Ensure updates are reflected on the Mashreq Securities website and communicated to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Post-Trade & Collateral Management Supervise post-trade activities including PCCP handling, DVP trade matching, and collateral management with ADX. Ensure failed trades are resolved promptly and funding obligations are met to avoid margin calls.
  • Automation & Process Improvement Champion automation of manual tasks within the unit, driving operational efficiency and control enhancement. Lead initiatives to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy across reconciliation and reporting processes.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement Foster strong relationships with internal teams (CAD, Compliance, Front Office) and external entities (DFM, ADX, etc). Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring high performance, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Automation & Technology Enablement

Drive automation and digital transformation across Treasury operations by partnering with Technology teams to implement new systems or enhance existing platforms. Ensure that automation initiatives strengthen control environments, improve process efficiency, and support proactive risk management.

  • Audit & Regulatory Engagement

Lead interactions with internal, external, and Central Bank auditors, ensuring timely provision of information, resolution of audit queries, and closure of findings. Maintain audit readiness and foster a culture of transparency and compliance across the unit.

  • Preferably Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) qualified as per SCA.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Securities Operations.
  • At least a Graduate degree in Finance with strong analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of treasury financial instruments, fixed income securities, derivatives, equity products and risk management concepts (Market / Operational and credit).
  • Understanding of Product control activities for calculation of Profit and Loss.
  • Good team worker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex digital concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of local regulatory rules and legislation, and various international requirements.

Bachelors / master’s degree in project governance / management or technology.
