Lead and manage PT Outbound Transport Operations, tools, processes maintenance and improvement. Impacts the business and functional team’s ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. There is clear autonomy within the role with a strong need to engage with peers and stakeholders. Strong knowledge and hands-on work-experience on GE Vernova tools and processes is required to achieve desired outcomes, including ability to develop, implement and drive functional processes and tools.

Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate outbound transport expertise and strong market acumen, including external benchmarking.
  • Lead and support all PT sites outbound transportation sourcing and operations and working closely with each site projects, logistics and supply chain teams to ensure the business fulfillment.
  • Be aligned with PT Transport and Logistics global sourcing strategies.
  • Incorporate use of key levers into site/business strategy (preferred supplier’s penetration, OTD, cash and usage) to maximize savings and cash impact, including tracking the targets and reporting.
  • Establish operating rhythms with key site-contacts and ensure successful outbound transport execution and share the best practices, communicate the market drivers, category strategy, goals/target and projects updates.
  • Lead and drive PT outbound transport operational execution with high service delivery mindset, and overall competitive bidding process, but not limited to supplier management, spend analysis, supplier development, risk review, compliance and surveillance to meet overall deflation, cash, supplier rationalization and productivity objectives, while managing adequate operating rhythm with key suppliers (Quarterly Business Reviews | QBR’s).
  • Perform data analysis to drive decision making, process improvement and functional development opportunities.
  • Support planning cycles (Blueprint, SII, Operational plan, etc.,) and metrics reporting.
  • Lead and define strategic approach and tactical execution, to implement the contracts, cost reduction projects and validating the project impact.
  • Participate in PT lean initiatives/projects and provide strong support of process improvement projects.
  • Maintain PT – Outbound Transport cost performance, YOY bowler for Inflation, deflation and transportation as % of sales and report to PT – Global Transport and Logistics Leader on monthly basis.
  • Maintain, track and report outbound transport spend v/s as sold budget and investigate/record root-caused the project-margin deviation v/s budget (if any) and report PT – Global Transport and Logistics Leader on monthly basis.
  • Uses Lean as method of work to ensure continuous improvement, standard work and daily Management.
  • Manage change and standardization through close collaboration with peers and business partners for adoption.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems with an ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal/external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision
  • May lead functional projects with minimal resource requirements and able to communicate difficult concepts and may influence others options on topics.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in logistics and transportation).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the logistics & transport at leading role.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and result oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to organize, assess, prioritize tasks, milestones and deliverables.
  • Team Player and can-do attitude.

Desired Characteristics

  • International experience working successfully with cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence others and drive change at all levels of the organization in a complex matrix organization.
  • At least 8 years supplier management and RFQ/competitive bidding experience.
  • Strong financial, quantitative and data analysis skills.
  • Proven project management skills demonstrated through solid execution track record, experience to manage complex global projects including ability to drive change in a team-based matrix environment.
  • Ability to handle a heavy workload, multiple and changing priorities, and constant deadline demand.
  • Proactive self-starter, ability to understand and respond to the needs without close-direct supervision while meeting job deadlines with “can-do” attitude.
  • High level of organizational skills, analytical thinking and facilitation skills, including solid presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of the logistics industry, including products and services, and its latest sourcing/sales trends.
