KPMG is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate for our ESG Assurance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, executing, and completing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) assurance engagements. This role involves working closely with clients to verify and ensure the accuracy of their ESG-related data, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, sustainability metrics, and compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
ESG Assurance Engagements:
Plan, execute, and complete ESG assurance engagements in accordance with ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3410 standards.
Collaborate with clients to understand their ESG reporting processes and systems.
Data Assessment and Verification:
Assess and verify client data related to GHG emissions, sustainability metrics, and other ESG-related information.
Ensure data accuracy and reliability through detailed analysis and verification processes.
GHG Protocol Application:
Apply the GHG Protocols, including Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standards, to evaluate clients emissions data.
Provide guidance to clients on improving their GHG accounting practices.
Sustainability Reporting Compliance:
Ensure compliance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards for sustainability reporting.
Assist clients in enhancing their sustainability reporting frameworks to meet GRI requirements.
Green Finance Framework Evaluation:
Evaluate green finance frameworks and provide assurance on compliance with the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) guidelines.
Advise clients on best practices for green finance and sustainable investment reporting.
Financed Emissions Assessment:
Assess financed emissions in line with the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) guidelines.
Work with financial institutions to accurately measure and report their financed emissions.
IFRS and ISSB Expertise:
Utilize IFRS and ISSB related experience to deliver high-quality engagements.
Provide insights and recommendations based on the latest developments in IFRS and ISSB standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Professional certification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in ESG assurance, sustainability reporting, or related field.
In-depth knowledge of ISAE 3000, ISAE 3410, GHG Protocols, GRI standards, ICMA guidelines, and PCAF guidelines.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
