Job Description

The role of a Senior Designer in Instrumentation and Automation is pivotal within the engineering and design sector, particularly for industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, and utilities. This position involves the development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems, ensuring that they function effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced instrumentation and automation systems that improve industrial processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive system integration and performance validation.
  • Conduct detailed site surveys to gather essential data and insights for design development.
  • Prepare and review detailed design drawings, layouts, and schematics for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for existing systems and ongoing projects.
  • Evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance the efficiency of automation systems.
  • Participate in project meetings offering innovative solutions and design perspectives.
  • Develop detailed documentation and specifications for all design projects ensuring understanding and usability.
  • Supervise and mentor junior designers and engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to applicable safety regulations and best practices in the industry.
  • Estimate project costs and timelines ensuring designs are delivered on budget and on schedule.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in instrumentation and automation technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation and automation design.
  • Proficient in using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of control systems architecture and industrial network protocols.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and leading design teams successfully.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to design challenges.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
