Job Description

A Restaurant Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of service and operations in a dining establishment. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the restaurant through effective management and supervision of staff, efficient service delivery, and maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction. With excellent leadership skills, a Restaurant Supervisor coordinates team efforts, manages operational tasks, and addresses customer inquiries or issues promptly. This role also involves overseeing daily restaurant functions, including inventory management, staff scheduling, customer service, and compliance with health and safety regulations. A Restaurant Supervisor, therefore, ensures the restaurant provides a consistently excellent dining experience that aligns with its brand and standards.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and ensure the restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate staff to provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Monitor budgets and payroll records to ensure minimal wastage and control expenses.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and ensure high-quality service standards.
  • Prepare staff schedules and find replacements during peak periods or unexpected absences.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness by ensuring staff adhere to cleaning schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations within the restaurant.
  • Implement and monitor restaurant policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to manage and oversee food preparation and service delivery.
  • Manage inventory effectively, ensuring proper stock levels are retained without over-ordering.
  • Utilize customer feedback to improve services and ensure guest satisfaction consistently.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new restaurant staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a restaurant supervisor or in a similar role within the food service industry.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities for a dynamic work environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant management software and point-of-sale systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build positive customer relationships.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work during various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
