About This Opportunity
We are now looking to recruit a Production Engineer Electrical, reporting to the Electrical and Controls Team Leader, within our Production Engineering team Bevcan EMEA, based at our plant in Dubai (UAE). The scope of the role is to support the 5 manufacturing locations in the Middle East and North Africa (UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia). You will also be involved in project work at new greenfield sites and newly acquired manufacturing locations. Join us and participate in the electromechanical activities of the beverage 2 piece can lines in order to improve the standards of the manufacturing processes in terms of safety, quality, cost and efficiency.
Your mission in Crown
Primary areas of activity and responsibility will include electrical power and control systems (SCADA), machines control (PLC), networks (i.e. Ethernet), electromechanical aspects of conveying, line control schemes, specifications of electrical and mechanical components of conveying systems. It will also require full participation in individual packing machines control and automation (ie palletisers, baggers, balancers etc.).
You promote the development of SOPs, Best Practices and support Cost Reduction Programmes. You deliver classroom and hands-on training of conveying, control and packaging equipment. You liaise with CROWN Technology on equipment, materials and process improvements, standardisation of specifications.
About You
The successful candidate has a sound engineering background to Higher National Diploma (HND) / Degree level in electromechanical or electrical engineering. You have significant experience in can handling and process control systems and components, with a safety mind-set, ideally in a 2 piece can-making environment. You are competent in Allen Bradley PLC programming and Networking. You possess a good understanding of basic machine operations, protection and controls systems, as well as a good understanding of the mechanical components of can-handling. The ability to acquire and utilise knowledge in specific areas of conveying systems, packaging equipment and associated materials is desired.
A self-starter, you operate with a logical approach, with a focused attention to detail and you demonstrate high levels of problem-solving skill. You have strong leadership, effective decision-making and interpersonal skills. You are able to demonstrate an ability to communicate at all levels and you are computer literate. You are flexible to travel at short notice including extended periods away from base, with the willingness to adapt to different cultures and circumstances.
